- Personal Protection
- Mixers, loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants, Shoes plus socks, Protective eyewear, Chemical-resistant apron for cleaning equipment, mixing and loading Chemical resistant gloves made of barrier laminate, butyl rubber ≥ 14 mils, nitrile rubber ≥ 14 mils, neoprene rubber ≥ 14 mils, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and Viton ≥ 14 mils. Additional PPE requirements for mixers and loaders supporting aerial application to rangelands, pasture lands, or non-crop land. These mixers/loaders must also wear: Chemical-resistant apron, and NIOSH-approved particulate filtering respirator equipped with R, or P class filter media. The respirator should have a NIOSH approval number prefix TC84A. It is recommended that you require the respirator wearer be fit tested, and trained in the use maintenance, and limitations of the respirator.
