- Applicators, mixers, loaders, flaggers and other handlers must wear: Long sleeved shirt and long pants Shoes plus socks Chemical-resistant gloves (made of barrier laminate, butyl rubber ≥ 14 mils, nitrile rubber ≥ 14 mils, or viton ≥ 14 mils) A chemical-resistant apron must be worn when mixing/loading, cleaning up spills, cleaning equipment, or otherwise exposed to the concentrate. For aerial application, mixers and loaders must also wear a minimum of a NIOSH-approved elastomeric half mask respirator with organic vapor (OV) cartridges and combination N, R, or P filters; OR a NIOSH-approved gas mask with OV canisters; OR a NIOSH-approved powered air purifying respirator with HE filters.
