General Information

Use Turflon Ester specialty herbicide for the control of actively-growing annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and kikuyugrass in perennial bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, or tall fescue ornamental turfgrass including these turfgrasses in sod farms and golf courses.

General Use Precautions and Restrictions

In Arizona: The state of Arizona has not approved Turflon Ester for use on sod farms.

Chemigation: Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

Do not apply Turflon Ester directly to, or otherwise permit it to come into direct contact with, cotton, grapes, peanuts, soybeans, tobacco, vegetable crops, flowers, citrus, fruit or orchard trees, shrubs, or other desirable broadleaf plants. Do not permit spray mists containing Turflon Ester to drift onto such plants.

To minimize turfgrass injury, do not treat if turfgrass is under heat or drought stress. Reapply Turflon Ester at 4-week intervals. Mow newly-seeded turfgrass 2 or 3 times before treating. Do not water for 24 hours after application. Do not reseed for 3 weeks after application. (This precaution does not apply when Bermudagrass turfgrass is overseeded with perennial ryegrass at a minimum reseeding rate of 400 lb per acre.)

Local conditions may affect the use of herbicides. Consult your local specialist for advice in selecting treatments from the label to best fit local conditions.

- Do not apply to ditches currently being used to transport irrigation water. Do not apply where runoff or irrigation water may flow onto agricultural land as injury to crops may result.

- Do not use on other turfgrass species such as bahiagrass, bentgrass, Bermudagrass, centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, or zoysiagrass unless turfgrass injury can be tolerated.

- Do not allow grazing to any area treated with Turflon Ester.

- Do not apply Turflon Ester to exposed roots of shallow-rooted trees and shrubs.

- Do not apply to golf course greens.

1000 sq ft in a single application.

- Do not aerially apply this product.

Turflon Ester is formulated as a low-volatile ester. However, the combination of spray contact with impervious surfaces, such as roads and rocks, and increasing ambient air temperatures, may result in an increase in the volatility potential for this herbicide, increasing a risk for off-target injury to sensitive crops such as grapes and tomatoes.
