Limitations, Restrictions, and Exceptions

IN A DOSING TANK AND PUMP

1. Fill a BASF Cooling Water Biocide solution concentrate tank with clean water.

2. For every 10 gallons of water in the tank, add 1700 grams of BASF Cooling Water Biocide.

3. Tightly cover the tank with its cover.

4. Set the dosing pump to deliver chlorine dioxide solution from the concentrate tank to the circulating water from the tower at a rate of between 1/4 and 1 liter (8 and 32 fl. oz.) per minute.

5. For every 1,000 gallons of cooling water, set the dosing pump to run a sufficient time to deliver between 0.25 and 5 liter (8 and 170 fl. oz.) of solution from the concentrate tank.

6. Achieve a residual chlorine dioxide concentration between 0.1 and 0.5 ppm at least weekly. Sample the cooling water at the circulating pump and discharge and, if dioxide residual does not reach 0.1 ppm, increase the addition rate as needed.
