PINE, SPRUCE, ETC.
PHC Ecto Spore Spray is designed for use with overhead spray equipment and is formulated for use on Pine, Spruce, Hemlock, Fir, Larch, Cypress, Cedar, Oak, Beech, Birch, Hickory, Pecan, Willow, Eucalyptus, Chesnut, Basswood and all other mycorrhizal tree species. This sprayable inoculant contains millions of ectomycorrhizal spores, beneficial rhizosphere bacteria, yucca extract, seakelp and other microbial nutrients to establish a healthy colonization of the root zone by these organisms. PHC Ecto Spore Spray:
- Improves absorption of water and minerals from the soil
- Introduces beneficial mycorrhizal fungi and bacteria
- Increases endurance and growth of difficult-to grow plants
- Helps plants mitigate adverse environmental stresses such as drought, salinity, and extremes of soil pH
Soil pH: The fungi in this product were chosen based on their ability to survive and colonize plant roots in a broad soil pH range of 3 to 9.
Fungicides: Some fungicides can have a detrimental effect on mycorrhizae. Soil application of any fungicide is not recommended for two weeks before or after seedling treatment. Foliar applications of non systemic fungicides should pose no problems. Systemic fungicides, like Bayleton, should not be used for three weeks before or after product use.
Herbicides and Insecticides: Do not normally interfere with mycorrhizal fungal development.

For best results, slowly add water to the spores in the container and mix the powder-like spores into a thin paste. Pour and rinse all the paste into the spray tank. Maintain agitation in the tank to prevent gradual settling of the spores. Use adequate quantities (50 to 100 gallons per acre) of water to spray the number of trees intended. Irrigate immediately with water to wash the spores into the tank. For bare root nursery seedbeds, make two spray applications in opposite directions, each one at half rate. Finally, flush the remaining spores from the spray equipment by applying a third spray with only water. Follow this with adequate irrigation (1/4 to 1/2 inch) to wash the spores into the soil.
