Grape colaspis
Description
- Adult: Small brown beetle with yellowish lines running down the length of its wing covers.
- Larvae: Small white grubs with tan or orange heads and covered in tiny hairs.
- Eggs: White to yellow and laid in clusters of about three dozen in the soil.
Timing of damage: V2 to V6
Type of damage: Defoliation. Look for irregular and elongated holes in leaves.
Scouting: Economic damage to soybeans from colaspis beetles has not been documented. It is considered a secondary pest of corn.
Economic threshold: No economic threshold has been established.
