Description: Cigar-shaped gray or green lesions about 3 cm to 15 cm long.
Pathogen involved: Setosphaeria turcica (a fungus)
Timing/Conditions: Occurs at or after silking during warm and extended periods of wet weather.
Contributing factors: Moderate temperatures and long periods of dew. Overwinters on corn debris.
Management practices: Use resistant hybrids and fungicides.
