Corn growers will have access to a new herbicide for the 2016 growing season. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved the registration of Dow AgroSciences’ Resicore herbicide.
Resicore is a premix with active ingredients acetochlor (group 15), mesotrione (group 28) and Clopyralid (group 4). The company says this will help farmers reduce early season weed competition and says Resicore is effective against waterhemp, giant ragweed, palmer amaranth, morningglory, marestail and more than 70 other species.
The premix can be applied from preplant to early postemergence and can be used in any tillage system. Resicore can be tank mixed with atrazine, glyphosate and other corn product for farmers who need additional modes of action.
